We all come across things that make us angry. Sometimes it is another person who makes us angry. Or is that the reality? Can someone or something make us angry, or do we make ourselves angry by responding to some outside influence? I believe that we can stop ourselves from becoming angry and no thing or person can make us angry.
Being able to control ones emotions is a sign of being an adult. But learning how to control anber is not something we study in grade school or high school. Yet, it can severly damage our health, as well s hurt other people.
Dealing with anger
Several different methods:
- Get physical with yoga or tai chi
- Mental phrases
Here, I am going to suggest some mental phraises in the form of quotes.
Use anger to throw them into disarray. The Art of War, by Sun Tzu.
Here he is talking about making the enemy angry, not your anger. In another part of ths book, he says "those who are quick to anger can be shamed." Those who are quick to anger do not make good generals, or good leaders.
If the general cannot overcome his anger and has his army swarm over the citadel, killing a third of his soldiers, and yet the citadel is still not taken, this is a disastrous attack. Therefore one who is good at martial arts overcomes other's forces without battle, conquers other's cities without siege, destroys others' nations without taking a long time. The Art of War, by Sun Tzu.

Some business schools are using this book in their business classes because some of the lessons on war can translate to the business world. I always thought that if I were to teach a class on business, I would have my students read "The Godfather," by Mario Puzo. The book, not the movie, teaches a lot about business and the dangers of gettng angry. Even if you just watch the movie, you can see how his ememies used Sonney's temper to lure him to his death.
Friendship is everything. Friendship is more thantalent. It is more than the government. It is almost the equal of family. - Don Corleone. -Mario Puzo, The Godfather
Great men are not born great, they grow great... -Mario Puzo, The Godfather
