When I was looking to have a real day spa, Idid some industrial espionage and went to other spas to see what they did. One place in Louisiana did this ear candling stuff. They had me lay on my side, and they put a circular guard around my ear to protect my face. Then they put a hollow candle in my ear and set it on fire.
Afterwards, they showed me how the candle was darker in color and explained how that came from impurities that were drawn from my ear by the rising smoke.
Then they did the other side.
The only good thing that came from this perocedure was the rest I got while the procedure was done, and the attention I got from the beautiful women who did the procedure. I don't recommend this for the home spa or anywhere else, but feel free to experiment.
